Six Million Dollar Man... Today FC Drakkar sold Bud Means to Uridium Skara Brae of Scotland for a record $6.2M. Bud Means had been with the team for three seasons as Drakkar competed in some of the toughest series in the United States. Félix González de Cosío will take over as the number one keeper and Kelly Hargrove was promoted from the youth academy to be his backup. |
| |
Survival!
FC Drakkar got 3 goals from Salvador Leal Sorriente and shut out their qualifier opponent Banagher Knights. Drakkar was in 3rd place going into the final week of the regular season, but lost to the Max's Marauders after leading 2-0 at home at half time. This dropped them to 5th place, forcing them into the qualifier match against the Knights. However, Drakkar was able to dominate midfield and convert 4 of 10 chances to easily win the match. |
| |
Season 39 honors...
Drakkar striker Salvador Leal Sorriente was named top scorer in Series III.8 – tied with Zephyrhills’ Jessie Cosby for the series title with 13 league goals. James Lyons finished third in the series with 12 league goals, but tops the Drakkar scoring chart for the season with 17 total goals. Roger Reid finished fifth in the series with 8 league goals. He had 10 total goals from the midfield position and was named club MVP for season #39. It was his first such award. |
